September is National Food Safety Education Month, and in 2024 Stop Foodborne Illness (STOP) is hosting its fourth annual STOP3000 awareness and fundraising event. Through our event we challenge our constituents, their friends and families, and our partners and donors to take 3,000 steps each day – every day – during the month of September to honor the 3,000 lives lost each year to foodborne illness in the U.S.
As the voice of people affected by foodborne illness, we collaborate with partners in academia, the food industry, and government to prevent foodborne illness. We advocate for effective food safety policy and facilitate culture change to increase food safety.
Stop Foodborne Illness is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. Donations are tax-deductible to the extent the law allows.
