b"WELCOME MESSAGEDear Friends,As we reflect on the organizations achievements in 2022, we are highly encouraged. Whether you advocate for change, focus onincreasing awareness or support those impacted by foodborne illness, we appreciate your support of our mission. Your involvementmakes a significant difference in the lives of countless individuals. We, as an organization, have been focusing on our roots in food safety policy. In the past year there has been success in our efforts toreduce Salmonella in poultry. In August 2022, the USDA Food Safety Inspection Service announced their intention to declare Salmonellaan adulterant in raw, breaded, stuffed chicken products that have caused 11 Salmonella outbreaks. This is a small step, but it is trulysignificant progress made by our coalition on behalf of consumers. The team's efforts at STOP continue by forging new partnerships and strengthening ongoing collaborations. We have also welcomednew constituent advocates, board members, and staff whose support moves our work forward. Our work continues, and our doors arealways open. Together, we can create a safer food supply chain to reduce illnesses and deaths.Your continued time and commitment to supporting the work of Stop Foodborne Illness is needed as we make progress on issues ofconcern to everyone who eats!Warm regards, MITZI D.
