The Food Safety Culture Toolkit
The Food Safety Culture Toolkit is a FREE, multimedia resource designed for teams of any shape and size who grow, manufacture, or handle food. It was created by the Alliance to Stop Foodborne Illness, which comprises 20+ companies, service providers and trade associations.
FREE and Customizable Resources
Culture is a way of life, reflected in symbols, behaviors, and beliefs that people accept without thinking much about them. Food safety culture is the learned and shared values, beliefs, and norms that affect attitudes and behaviors towards food safety throughout an organization. A strong, positive food safety culture can help protect consumers from foodborne illness and, in turn, an organization’s reputation.
Designed with an eye towards small and medium-sized organizations, this highly accessible, no-cost set of resources includes testimony from families directly impacted by foodborne illness, interactive games, video guides, communication and assessment tools for team building, and more.
Alliance members from across the food industry contributed time and insight to create tools which are science-backed, experience-driven and easily tailored for companies of any size.
